Software Overview
All of our commercial vehicle tracking units run off one of two
software packages, Pro Mapping and/or Lite Mapping. The Pro Software
is compatible with all of our tracking units while the Lite is
only compatible with the manual download system (Shadow Tracker™ j2). Both have the same precision and accuracy but the Pro
Software version offers quite a bit more for the discerning fleet
manager. Features common to both are:
Pinpointing
Pinpointing is a feature that allows managers the ability to mark
coordinates on a map with a specific name. This allows common
locations to be referenced through a name rather than a street
address. Example: Your home office is at 123 Elm Street; you mark
that location on the map and designate the location as “Home
Office”. Now, instead of a report saying “100-125
Elm Street” it would say “Home Office”. Example

The process for designating pinpoints takes only a few seconds
and is extremely user-friendly. Pinpoints make reading reports
that much easier.
Data Export
Shadow Tracker™ mapping software has the capability to
export GPS tracking data. Customers use the export function to
export the GPS data to a comma delimitated text file.
Extractor Utility Software
Both the Pro and Lite software are compatible with Shadow Tracker™
Extractor Utility programs. These programs allow manual downloads
of data from a Palm™ handheld or laptop. Tracking data can
then be downloaded to a computer running Shadow Tracker™
Lite or Pro. This data can also be e-mailed and analyzed at a
distant location. This makes it ideal for companies that have
fleet drivers in the field for extended periods of time.
